When Apple released the HomePod, it was the first time in my life I had anything close to a high fidelity speaker (unless you count the amp & subs I had in my high school car's trunk for a week before they got stolen) and I was in search of the music that must be heard on such a speaker. Pink Floyd was the go-to recommendation and that led me down a rabbit hole of rediscovering classic rock albums. While I don't have high fidelity speakers in my gym (yet... some day I'll get stereo HomePods in there), I needed to add these albums to my music rotation.

It's crazy that this was the first time I'd heard any song off Paul Simon's Graceland (other than You Can Call Me Al). But I'm glad my first experience was on such a nice speaker. I have to revisit Fleetwood Mac's Rumours several times a year. And I love the Rolling Stones, but they've got some lyrics in there that you've got to be careful of in the classroom (those tracks aren't on this playlist).

SPICY LYRICS

Everybody has different views on what's okay to play around kids and what isn't. So here's how this works. Below, you'll see all the songs on the playlist. If you click the song, you'll see the lyrics pop up. But not just lyrics. You'll also see questionable content is highlighted like this.

Questionable content is highlighted by word so you can read it for context. The spiciest words are highlighted in red. Medium words are highlighted in orange. And any word highlighted in yellow is either very mild or it's a word like "head" where it could be okay or absolutely not okay, depending on the context.

Spicy Lyrics is a tool I created on my iPhone/iPad to help me quickly see if songs are appropriate to play in the gym. I love it so much, I'm giving it away so you all can use it on your phones.
