Homemade Field Day: Sponge Relay

Setup

  • Get two buckets: a larger one and a smaller one. Don't have buckets? Use a large bowl and a cup.
  • Fill the large bucket with water and place it at the starting point with a sponge. If you don't have a sponge, just use a rag or old T-Shirt.
  • Set the smaller, empty bucket at the ending point.

2+ Players

Set up two playing areas. Each player fills their sponge with water then runs to their empty bucket and squeezes the water into it. See who fills their small bucket first.

1 Player

Fill your sponge with water, run down to the empty bucket and squeeze it in. See how fast you can fill that bucket.
